When one thinks of the Everglades, images of wild life, natural fauna and untamed grassland come to mind. But the new development of the same name is a total departure from what one would find in the western regions of South Florida. This version of the Everglades is actually right on the bay, way beyond civilized, and is attracting an entirely new species.

Everglades on the Bay is a contemporary-style, mixed-use development with residential condominium and retail space designed with the quintessential urbanite in mind. It is being built on the site of the Everglades Hotel in the heart of the new downtown Miami and combines a luxurious waterfront lifestyle with the convenience of city living. Two 49-story towers house 870 spacious units, all with spectacular water and city views, and a host of upscale amenities in an exciting, fast-paced urban setting.


Located just across from Bayfront Park at the edge of Miami’s business center, Everglades puts residents in the heart of all the action. They are surrounded by non-stop culture and entertainment, with the AmericanAirlines Arena, the new Performing Arts Center and trendy shops and restaurants that are sprouting up in the area as a result of the downtown renaissance. “You can literally walk to work, to the theater, and to the waterfront from the property. Everglades is at the forefront of the transformation of Miami and its stature as a culturally sophisticated cosmopolitan city. The 15,000 square-foot health spa features treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room and a plunging pool, exclusively for residents. Everglades also boasts a juice bar, tanning deck, meeting room, business center, billiards room, and valet parking.

Cabi Developers, who is responsible for The Parc at Turnberry Isle and Turnberry Ocean Colony, has aligned itself with Pop Artist Romero Britto on this project. Britto will be defining the overall lifestyle theme at Everglades on the Bay and is serving as the inspiration for the entire marketing campaign. He will also create two original pieces of art, which will be on permanent display in the building’s lobby.

Urban chic style, downtown location, panoramas of the water, and a well-rounded amenity selection—even with so much to offer in one development, Everglades on the Bay is priced competitively. According to Cababie, “We offer the same standard of living as many of the condominiums on Brickell, but are less expensive. This is attainable luxury with a value that is really incomparable and a lifestyle to match.”

Units, including flats, lofts and one-, two- and three-bedrooms, are priced from $169,000 to over a million. The 7,000 square-foot, 17th floor sales center is scheduled to open soon.
